Office Refurbishment – Bringing The Outdoors In

When you think about an office refurb, the average person would think how much space do I need, how many boardrooms, how many seats?

However, one of the most important questions you should be asking is how many plants I need in my office refurbishment?

When thinking about an office refurbishment, plants really can make a difference to the quality of work being produced.

Employees spend masses of their time in the workplace every day. Employers need to think about their employee's mental health and mindfulness whilst designing a new workplace plan. One way of doing this is by adding greenery to the workplace to encourage a positive mindset and productive well-being. But you are probably thinking, why plants?

Plants Increase Productivity

Plants increase workplace productivity by 15% as they create the potential for heightened creativity and enjoyment at work. They also look beautiful in modern, on-trend office designs or minimalistic spaces. The green shades give a clean, fresh feel and increase productivity.

Plants Are Good For The Working Environment

Plants do not just look good in an office space, but they also make you feel good. Just one plant per three employees can improve air quality as up to 50% of carbon dioxide could be removed from circulation.

With significant benefits for employees' mental health, employers could see a rise in productivity and happiness when adopting this feature. Plants help reduce distractions that may be implemented by office noise, especially if the space is open planned. They lighten up moods, are an excellent content for social media, and create a welcoming personality.

Plants Reduce Stress Levels

We all know the negative impacts stress has when trying to work. Stress increases the chance of having high blood pressure, tiredness and depression. Therefore, studies provide evidence to suggest that plants create a 58% reduction in depression and 37% in anxiety when plants are added to the office. Studies further show that plants help diminish absences, reducing sick leave by 20-60%.
