How to get employees to buy-in to the office fit-out?

With the growing acceptance of hybrid working, employers have struggled to encourage their staff to return to work.

How to use a new office design as a way to encourage further return to the workplace:

Getting a new office design will encourage and enthuse your staff to work from a new look office space regularly. Being able to choose what kind of area you would like to work in, be it a collaboration space or a private area is something that you cannot get, working from home. Increasing the collaboration between staff in areas such as the drinks station or the kitchen will make the office more of an enjoyable space to come to and will help inspire productivity and creativity in your staff.

How to avoid discouraging staff from returning to work:

Whilst staff may be reluctant to return to work at the best of times, the idea of having an office fit-out could put them off more, as their comfort zone of what they thought was work has dramatically changed – not only with actually having to come back into work, but then the workplace they knew has changed.

This is why it is important that you communicate the changes with your staff because an office design and fit-out is only a change for the better in all aspects and definitely should not be something that your staff feel worried about. Giving them an opportunity to speak out about any concerns they may have will help to iron out any potential misunderstandings before they start escalating.
